Laura
Osbaldeston, a native of South Africa, began her modern oboe
studies there before coming to Los Angeles, California, to work with
Alan Vogel at Cal Arts. She moved on to baroque oboe, studying with
Marianne Pfau in San Diego, and began her baroque orchestral career
in California, performing with Musica Angelica and the Corona del Mar
Baroque Festival Orchestra.. Since moving to Amsterdam in 2005 to study
with Alfredo Bernardini, she has toured Holland with the Holland Boys
Choir, Netherland Bach Orchestra, and the Northern Consort of Groningen.
She has also performed in Bielefeld and Hamburg, Germany.
Ms. Osbaldeston plays Eichentopf copies of oboe and oboe d’amore
by Sand Dalton oboe, and an oboe da caccia by Peter van der Poel.
